About Us

Trails West Barbershop Chorus is a recognized chorus of Barbershop Harmony Society, formerly known as the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America (SPEBSQSA). We meet once a week to practice and enjoy the sounds and fun of quartet singing and Barbershop close harmony.

We have operated almost continuously since 1981. We present an annual show, usually in the fall. Our activities include singing in quartets and as a chorus during the year at community functions, retirement homes, birthday parties, wedding receptions and any other activity where people would like to hear good close harmony.

Another annual activity for Trails West is our annual Singing Valentines. Each Valentine's Day and also the day before, we gather in quartets and fan out across Johnson County and nearby areas to serenade lucky loved ones. Each lucky recipient receives a box of candy, a rose and a card while being serenaded with a few of "The Old Songs", which include songs like "Heart of My Heart", "Sweet and Lovely", and other favorites designed just for a Valentine's most sincere wishes. Check out the Valentine's Day link on the left of the screen.

We also fund a scholarship program for area high school students who are looking to major in some area of music.

We welcome all men who would like to try it out. We have no auditions and welcome those who like to sing.

Why don't you come and be a part of our chorus?
